TVS Motor Company has initiated a recall of select iQube electric two-wheeler units manufactured between July 10, 2023, and September 9, 2023. The company has decided to recall these units for a proactive inspection of the bridge tube to ensure the vehicles maintain optimal ride handling over extended usage.
In a statement, TVS Motor mentioned that it will conduct any necessary rectifications on the affected scooters at no cost to the customers. The company or its dealer partners will individually contact customers regarding this matter.
Last month, TVS launched a new version of the iQube priced at Rs 94,999. The iQube range now includes three models: iQube, iQube S, and iQube ST, with five iterations in total—iQube 2.2kWh, iQube S 3.4 kWh, iQube ST 3.4 kWh, iQube 3.4 kWh, and iQube 5.1 kWh ST.
The iQube 2.2kWh offers a range of 75 km with a top speed of 75 km/h, while the 3.4 kWh battery model promises a range of 100 km and a top speed of 78 km/h. The top model with a 5.1 kWh battery offers a range of 150 km and a top speed of 82 km/h.
The iQube 5.1kWh variant, which features the largest battery capacity, starts at Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru). It comes with a 950W charger, taking 4 hours 18 minutes to charge (0-80%), providing a range of 150 kilometres.
Meanwhile, the 3.4kWh battery variant is priced at Rs 1.56 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru) and also includes a 950W charger. This model offers the fastest charge time of 2 hours 50 minutes (0-80%) and a range of 100 km. It features a 7-inch full-colour TFT touchscreen, voice assist with Alexa skill set, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), digital document storage, 32 litres under-seat storage space, and a top speed of 78 kmph.
