Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) has crossed the three-lakh electric vehicle sales mark, becoming the first manufacturer in India’s commercial EV segment to reach this milestone. The portfolio includes the Treo range, Zor Grand, e-Alfa electric three wheelers, and the Mahindra ZEO small four-wheeler.
The company says the most recent one lakh sales came in the last 12 months, its fastest growth phase so far. Cumulatively, MLMML’s electric vehicles have logged more than five billion kilometres. By the company’s estimate, this has avoided over 185 kilo metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, which it equates to planting about 4.3 million trees.
Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, said the milestone reflects customer trust in the company’s EVs. The three-lakh mark follows the two-lakh milestone achieved last year, indicating continued momentum in a segment that has been adopting electric options at a rapid pace.
MLMML has added and updated products based on operator feedback. Recent launches include the Treo Plus with a sheet metal body, e-Alfa Plus, Zor Grand Range Plus, and the Mahindra ZEO. Introduced in October 2024, the ZEO is the company’s entry in the sub-2 tonne electric small commercial vehicle category.
It uses a 30 kW motor with a 21.3 kWh battery and has a claimed range of 160 kilometres on a single charge. Fast charging can add up to 100 kilometres of range in 60 minutes. The vehicle is rated for a 765 kilogram payload and the battery carries a seven year or 1.5 lakh kilometre warranty.
Alongside product expansion, MLMML has tied initiatives to its milestones. At two lakh sales, it launched the UDAY NXT programme for driver empowerment, including ₹20 lakh accidental insurance and financial counselling.
Marking the three-lakh milestone, the company has rolled out a refreshed NEMO connected platform on iOS, Android and web. The updated platform supports multi vehicle management, real time geo tracking, service booking, roadside assistance and access to charging locations for owners and fleet operators.
The company operates in the commercial three-wheeler and small four-wheeler space, where electric vehicles are gaining traction due to predictable duty cycles and lower running costs. MLMML says its combination of product updates, service support and digital tools has helped it reach the three-lakh sales mark ahead of rivals in the commercial EV segment.
Mahindra Last Mile Mobility’s stellar sales numbers may be attributed to the brand being at the forefront of the mobility shift that’s happening in intra-city goods and people transport. This sector is getting electrified at an industry-leading pace as daily running distances are well within the realm of current battery capacity. Electric vehicles are also a lot more economical than both diesel and CNG powered vehicles, which is another big reason for such a quick, tectonic shift.
