Team Defianz Racing, the official Formula Student team of Delhi Technological University (formerly Delhi College of Engineering), has delivered a remarkable performance at Formula Bharat 2026, further cementing its position among India’s leading student-led engineering teams.

Driven by a team of over 40 undergraduate students, Team Defianz Racing designs, builds, and races high-performance electric formula-style cars, competing against top institutions at national and international levels. What distinguishes the team is its completely student-driven approach. Every stage of the vehicle lifecycle, from concept ideation and engineering design to simulations, manufacturing, assembly, and rigorous on-track testing, is executed entirely in-house.

At Formula Bharat 2026, the team successfully cleared all technical inspections, a benchmark achieved by only a select few, and was among the limited teams to run their car on the prestigious Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore. Further showcasing their engineering and financial acumen, the team secured an impressive 5th position in the Cost and Manufacturing event.

Building on this momentum, Team Defianz Racing is now pursuing an ambitious and pioneering goal: developing India’s first Driverless Formula Student car, with the vision of competing on international tracks. This initiative represents a significant leap forward, integrating electric mobility with advanced autonomous systems and positioning the team at the forefront of
innovation in the Formula Student ecosystem.

The team’s journey is strengthened by the support of leading industry partners, including Festo, NXP Semiconductors, SKF, Vecmocon, and KEI Wires and Cables. These collaborations reflect a strong industry-academia synergy and reinforce the credibility and impact of the team’s work.
