ChargeZone Acquires Zerovolt’s Wadala (Mumbai) Charging Facility in Landmark Deal

“Zerovolt set to invest over ₹250 crores to power the future of heavy commercial EV mobility”

In a significant development for India’s electric mobility sector, ChargeZone, the country’s largest charge point operator (CPO), has acquired Zerovolt’s flagship Wadala charging facility in Mumbai in an all-cash deal for an undisclosed amount.

Founded just three years ago by Harshdeep Singh Virk and Priyesh Joshi, Zerovolt has quickly established itself as a leader in heavy commercial EV charging solutions, catering to electric passenger buses and large-scale commercial fleets. The company is best known for powering Chalo Mobility, India’s first electric private intra-city bus operator, thereby enabling a major shift towards sustainable public transport.

With this acquisition, ChargeZone further consolidates its leadership in EV infrastructure. Backed by funding from BlueOrchard Finance, and British International Investment, ChargeZone is India’s most well-funded and fastest-growing CPO. Its robust nationwide network and financial strength provide the perfect foundation to accelerate India’s journey toward zero-emission mobility.

“This acquisition is not just a validation of our early vision but also a stepping stone towards building a full-fledged electric mobility platform for heavy commercial vehicles,” said Harshdeep Singh Virk, Co-Founder of Zerovolt. “Our mission has always been to solve electrification where it matters most—large-scale commercial fleets and operations. With support, this vision gets the scale it deserves,” added Priyesh Joshi, Co-Founder of Zerovolt.

Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO, ChargeZone, “India’s EV ecosystem is entering a decisive growth phase, and the electrification of heavy commercial vehicles will be its true tipping point. As we move towards 15,000 fast DC charging points nationwide across our network, ChargeZone continues to strengthen its position as India’s largest CPO. By acquiring Zerovolt’s flagship hub into our network, we are not only expanding our operational footprint but also reinforcing our commitment to building the backbone of sustainable transport for the country.”

While ChargeZone takes charge of the Wadala hub, the young founders of Zerovolt are doubling down on their next big move creating India’s first integrated EV ecosystem for commercial fleets. Over the next two years, Zerovolt will invest over ₹250 crores to expand electrification across commercial transport and logistics, one of the most fuel-intensive and high-emission sectors. The move signals a strategic consolidation in India’s EV sector, enabling large-scale fleet electrification and setting the stage for long-term sustainability in logistics and heavy-duty transport.
