March 18th, 2024: The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) will procure a 120 kW CCS2 DC charger and a 22 kW Type 2 AC charger from VerdeMobility. ARAI floated a tender in the first week of November, and several EV charging players participated in it. VerdeMobility’s EV chargers met all the technical specifications required by ARAI, including an existing certification requirement.
According to Foram Modi, the CTO of VerdeMobility, the company will gather feedback from ARAI on the performance of the charger and its compatibility with different electric vehicles (EVs). This activity will be conducted as a part of their after-sales support. It will ensure that communication with different EVs in India is optimized. They plan to use their learning from this to further improve and optimize their communication with all EVs in India.
VerdeMobility received ARAI certification for its 60 kW, 120 kW, and 240 kW range of DC chargers, and 10kW, 15kW, 22kW, and 44kW range of AC chargers in December. Their chargers are used for developing EV infrastructure, for homes, fleets, and business uses. For the upcoming financial year, they plan to launch their compact AC charger series, which will be ARAI-certified and affordable.
