Bangalore EV startup Simple Energy has revealed its plans for affordable electric scooters. The two-wheeler EV startup started deliveries of the Simple One electric scooter on June 6.
Fresh from the relaunch and commencement of deliveries of the Simple One, Simple Energy has finally thrown a light into its plans for the future, especially with regards to e-scooters that are more palatable for those on a budget.
Simple Energy has revealed that it is working on two affordable electric scooters that will be launched in the coming quarter. The firm claims that it is “ready to enthral customers by alleviating their range concern and making Simple Energy’s portfolio much more accessible”.
Simple Energy relaunched the only scooter it showed to the world a few weeks ago in May. The updated Simple One electric scooter was launched for Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in six colour options – Azure Blue, Namma Red, Grace White, Brazen Black, Brazen X and Light X.
The Simple Energy One is powered by a dual-battery setup that has a capacity of 5kWh which allows for a range of 212km on a single charge. The battery pack can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in 5 hours and 54 minutes.
Those looking for a faster charger can purchase the 750-watt fast charger for Rs 13,000. Simple One’s Loop fast charging network (expected to be available this August) will soon offer an even faster charging method with speeds of up to 1.5km/min.
The battery pack powers a mid-mounted electric motor rated at 11.39bhp and 72Nm of peak torque that propels the Simple One from 0-40km/h in just 2.77 seconds, the quickest time in the segment.
