At the launch event of the new electric scooter S1 air, Ola teased the new look of its first electric car. The company has planned to launch its four-wheeler EV by mid-year 2024. The company said the new EV will be built at the same manufacturing facility where the company’s two-wheeler is developed in Tamil Nadu.
For developing the new car, Ola has planned to hire about 3,000 people. This is said to be the biggest project of Ola after launching a new scooter. Ahead of the launch, the company already claimed its vehicle will have the ability to reach 0-100 km/hr in four seconds, according to media reports.
On the front of the range, the vehicle is expected to cover a range of 500 km on a single charge. ”It will be the fastest and sportiest car India has ever seen,” said Bhavish Aggarwal. Ola aims to manufacture 1 million cars by the year 2026.
The new car by Ola will come on the market almost a year after from now but the company will not keep any space in 2023. The founder, Bhavish Aggarwal confirmed that the company will open the purchase window for the new scooter in February 2023 while the delivery of the vehicle will kick off in April 2023.
Notably, the booking for the new two-wheeler is already open from October 22 onwards at a price of Rs 999. The price of the vehicle is set at Rs 84,999.
