Ultraviolette Introduces Universal EV Charging Interface for E2Ws

Ultraviolette has rolled out UVLYNC, a Type 2 charging interface that enables electric two-wheelers to use AC car charging stations across India.

The system, launched on January 28, 2025, allows access to over 4,000 AC charging stations and 100,000 Type 2 car chargers nationwide.

The interface is compatible with Ultraviolette’s F77 motorcycle and will be available to other electric two-wheeler brands in India, addressing a significant infrastructure gap in the country’s growing electric vehicle market. This development aims to facilitate long-distance travel for electric two-wheeler users by leveraging the existing car charging network.

“By providing a universal interface, this solution expands charging possibilities and fosters greater confidence in embracing electric mobility,” said Niraj Rajmohan, Co-Founder and CTO of Ultraviolette.

The company plans to make UVLYNC available to all electric two-wheeler owners, regardless of brand.

Ultraviolette, which entered the market in 2022 with its F77 electric motorcycle, has positioned itself in the premium segment of India’s electric two-wheeler market. The company’s move comes as India’s electric vehicle sector experiences rapid growth, with the government pushing for increased EV adoption through various initiatives and policies.

The lack of widespread charging infrastructure has been a key concern for electric vehicle adoption in India, particularly for two-wheelers which constitute the largest segment of the country’s automotive market. This universal charging solution could help address range anxiety among potential EV buyers and support the government’s goal of increasing electric vehicle penetration in the coming years.
