MOVIN Rolls Out The Second Phase Of Electric Vehicles In Bengaluru Paving The Way For Greener Deliveries In Logistics

MOVIN, a logistics brand launched as a joint venture between UPS and InterGlobe Enterprises adds the second fleet of Electric Vehicles (EV) for its first and last-mile deliveries in Bengaluru. The first fleet was rolled out in Delhi NCR earlier this year. The company will deploy EVs in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune by the end of 2023 as part of its plan to reduce carbon emissions and to align with its long-term sustainability goals.

MOVIN’s focus towards sustainable logistics solutions is the reason behind its growing adoption of EVs in its operations. The decision to implement electric vehicles (EVs) for its first and last mile deliveries is a positive and environmentally responsible choice. This transition will help decrease carbon emissions, lessen the ecological impact, and demonstrate MOVIN’s dedication to a cleaner and more sustainable future. Moreover, it will lead to cost savings in the long run through reduced fuel and maintenance expenditures hence MOVIN plans to grow its fleet size in its key markets in the coming months.

With the deployment of EVs, MOVIN aims to reduce 200 tons of CO2 emissions within the next 12 months. Each EV is capable of towing up to 850 kg, and it can effortlessly go 120 kilometers on a single charge.

JB Singh, Director, MOVIN Express said, “At MOVIN, we are committed to accelerating the adoption of clean energy mobility solutions, driving positive change in the logistics industry with a focus on sustainability, community, and technology. This transition to the electric fleet for our first and last mile delivery operations is a progressive move which embodies our unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility and signifies our drive to lead in sustainable logistics, delivering a greener and cleaner future. We are determined to continue electrifying our fleet across various cities in the coming months.”

On the launch of the EVs, Gregory Goba Ble, Vice President for UPS in the Indian subcontinent, Middle East and Africa and Director for MOVIN Express said, “We take immense pride in our MOVIN team, which is accelerating our efforts to develop sustainable logistics solutions for India. At UPS, the electrification of our fleet is vital, enabling us to reach our target of 40% alternative fuel usage in ground operations by 2025 and attaining carbon neutrality by 2050. We’ll continue to engage public and private stakeholders to help ensure we achieve our carbon neutrality goal by 2050.”

MOVIN is a B2B logistics brand that caters to customers spanning across diverse sectors such as IT & electronic peripherals, apparels, healthcare equipment, auto components, e-Commerce, pharma, consumer durables and FMCG. The company has expanded its air and ground network to 49 cities across India within a year.
