Motul India and Zypp Electric have partnered to conduct a training programme on two-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) repair and maintenance for mechanics. The program first commenced with a two-day training at Gurugram; this will be the training model used to educate over 10,000 mechanics across the country as specialists in EV- certified vehicles. Motul India brings extensive expertise in automobile maintenance and care, while Zypp Electric offers insights into the operational issues and needs of e-2Ws. The joint venture is designed to equip mechanics so that they can competently work on ICE and electric two- and three-wheelers.

The program offered a mix of in-depth classroom and practical training, teaching core principles of EV electrical systems, diagnostics, and troubleshooting while gaining practical skill sets essential for servicing electric two-wheelers. The importance of the programme emerged from comments from participating mechanics and dealer partners who disclosed a 50 per cent increase in the EV repair knowledge among mechanics after the training. The cooperation coincides with Motul India’s goal to create a sustainable electric vehicle last-mile delivery infrastructure in the growing Indian market
