MG Motor India Reports Sales of 4532 Units in Feb— Comet, Astor, Hector, ZS EV

MG Motor India announced its retail sales numbers for February 2024, totalling 4532 units. The company registered a growth of 18% over the previous month, January 2024, with 3,825 units sold during the same period last year. In December 2023, the company’s retail sales were at 4,400 units, resulting in a 13% YoY growth over December 2022.

Electric vehicles (EVs) continue to contribute a significant share of the carmaker’s overall vehicle sales, accounting for approximately 33% of the total units sold in February 2024. The company is gearing up to work on potential logistics issues due to disruption in global shipping as a consequence of various international events, most notably the Red Sea crisis.

The company registered a growth rate of 18% in the overall PV segment in the current year, which is above the industry average of 8-9% in the same sector. MG is now the second largest EV seller in the country after Tata Motors. The Chinese-owned British brand recently slashed prices of its entire lineup, making them a much more attractive proposition.

MG Motor will continue to update its portfolio for 2024. Its next big update will be the facelifted Gloster which should be launched in the coming few months. Spy shots of the flagship SUV have been spied on more than one occasion recently.
