Lohia has unveiled its new Humsafar IK Tipper EV, specifically designed for waste collection and management.
This is an all-electric waste collection vehicle that has been introduced to reduce tailpipe emissions in the sector. The company revealed that this EV has been designed and developed specifically to offer clean mobility solutions in the waste collection and waste management sector in the country.
Till date, waste collection vehicles in the country are either diesel-powered or CNG-powered in metropolitan cities. CNG vehicles are also considered clean but an EV alternative provides an even cleaner solution in the mobility sector for waste collection.
The Lohia Humsafar IK Tipper EV comes equipped with a 10-kWh battery pack which produces 8.04 bhp and has a top speed of up to 48 kmph. It also offers a company-claimed range of over 100 km on a single charge. This EV takes about 4 hours for a full charge. It has a ground clearance of 220mm and has a gradability of 13 degrees.
The company has introduced the Humsafar IK Tipper EV in an ex-showroom price range of INR 8 to 9 lakhs. It features a waste collection box at the rear which measures 1750x1485x1450 mm and handles 1047 kg of gross vehicle weight. It also gets a digital instrument cluster.
