India New Launch

Kinetic E-Luna Launched in India at Rs 69,990

Kinetic Green today launched the Luna in an electric avatar, the E-Luna, at an introductory price of Rs 69,990 (ex-showroom). While bookings for the E-Luna opened on January 26, Kinetic Green got over 40,000 customer enquiries for the electric two-wheeler.

Targeting urban and rural customers, Kinetic Green aims to sell 1,00,000 units of the E-Luna in FY25. The company claimed that E-Luna’s total cost of ownership would be below Rs 2,500 per month.

Kinetic Green claimed that the E-Luna has been completely designed and engineered in India, having a payload capacity of 150kg. The E-Luna has a 2.2kW BLDC mid-mount motor paired with an IP67-rated 2kWh lithium-ion battery. The electric two-wheeler has fast-charging battery technology and swappable battery options.

While the E-Luna has a claimed range of 110km on a single full charge, it comes with a top speed of 50kmph. Its battery can be charged in four hours. The company claimed that the E-Luna will also have 1.7kWh and 3.0kWh battery pack options in the future.

The E-Luna is based on a dual-tubular, high-strength steel chassis. There are telescopic forks at the front with the electric two-wheeler sitting on 16-inch wheels. It gets combi-braking system as well.

The E-Luna has a CAN-enabled communications protocol with a digital instrument panel. Other notable features include USB charging port, three riding modes, a detachable rearseat and a side stand sensor.

“I am proud to state that the E-Luna is 100% designed for India and 100% Made-in-India! We are also proud to share that the entire Kinetic Group has supported the E-Luna development,” said Arun Firodia, Chairman, Kinetic Group.

“Our group companies like Kinetic Engineering, Kinetic Communications and Kinetic Electric Motor Company have developed the key components like the E-Luna trademark chassis, the transmission, smart controller, digital cluster and the motor. Kinetic Green team has worked tirelessly over the last three years on the development of the E-Luna and I am very pleased at the outcome,” he added.

The E-Luna has five colour options — Mulberry Red, Pearl Yellow, Night Star Black, Ocean Blue and Sparkling Green. Its deliveries will start soon across the country. It will also be available on Amazon and Flipkart.

Kinetic Green Founder and CEO Sulajja Firodia Motwani pointed out that the E-Luna, designed for personal and commercial use, goes beyond typical EV products. “Symbolising innovation and minimalistic yet futuristic user-centric design, the E-Luna is fully made in India and designed for Bharat, reflecting our commitment to a sustainable, equitable, and progressive future,” she said.
