Maruti Suzuki eVX Electric SUV Spied For The First Time

Maruti Suzuki is one of the few top car manufacturers in India that are yet to enter the growing EV space, however, that might change soon. The Japanese carmaker showcased its first fully electric SUV concept vehicle at the 2023 Auto Expo in January this year called ‘eVX’, confirming that the production-ready version will hit the markets in 2025.
While the launch is still about two years away, the eVX has now been spotted testing for the very first time. 

The prototype was fully covered in black camo, however, a majority of details have been revealed. Talking about the design, the eVX seems to draw inspiration from the Grand Vitara as well as the Fronx, with its high-mounted wraparound tail lights that seem to be connected together, squared off wheel arches and a flattish bonnet.
Unlike the split-headlamp setup seen on the Fronx and Grand Vitara, the eVX test mule seems to feature more conventional-looking headlights. However, considering that the electric SUV is still months away from entering production, changes could be made to keep it in line with the company’s latest design ethos. The EV sits on multi-spoke silver alloy wheels, and gets cameras mounted on its ORVMs.
The spy shots also reveal the interior design of the eVX. The test mule features a large single free-standing display that incorporates both the instrumentation as well as the infotainment screen. A two-spoke steering wheel can be seen with flat top and bottom, along with vertical AC vents. It should be noted that the vehicle spied is a left-hand drive unit, which means that it will be available globally as well. Maruti Suzuki had previously revealed that the eVX will be offered with a 60 kWh battery pack providing a range of around 550 km on a single charge.
