Bengaluru, 14th April, 2026: AUMOVIO India, the Indian unit of the German technology and electronics company AUMOVIO, has surpassed 10 million Airbag Control Units (ACUs) manufactured at its Bengaluru facility, with supplies to leading domestic automotive car manufacturers as well as export markets including Japan and Korea. The occasion also marked the inauguration of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) line and the launch of the Integrated Safety Control Module (ISCM), signalling the company’s continued growth through the introduction of advanced safety technologies. Together, these developments strengthen AUMOVIO India’s growth path and position it for future expansion, with the Bengaluru facility playing an increasingly important role in serving APAC markets.

ACU production at the facility began in 2016, with volumes scaling steadily over the past decade. The achievement reflects AUMOVIO India’s expanding role in supplying safety-critical electronic systems that support advanced vehicle safety functions for automotive OEMs, addressing both domestic demand and requirements across key APAC markets.

Prashanth Doreswamy, President & CEO – AUMOVIO India, said, “This milestone reflects the steady scale-up of our manufacturing operations over the past decade. Our transition towards increased automation, along with a strong focus on localisation, has enabled us to improve efficiency and build a more resilient supply ecosystem, while continuing to deliver high-quality, safety-critical systems to our customers.”

Manufacturing transformation and localisation

Over the years, the Bengaluru facility has undergone a gradual transition in its manufacturing processes. Early-stage production relied more heavily on manual assembly, which has since evolved into a more automated environment. This shift has improved production efficiency, consistency, and throughput, while reducing dependency on manual intervention.

Alongside this transformation, AUMOVIO India has strengthened its focus on localisation. A majority of components used in ACU manufacturing are now sourced and produced within India, with core components increasingly aligned with local supply ecosystems, supporting supply chain integration and domestic manufacturing capabilities.

The organization continues to maintain consistently high-quality standards in production, ensuring that its systems meet the stringent safety and performance requirements of automotive OEMs across markets. With this milestone and the introduction of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Integrated Safety Control Module (ISCM) lines, AUMOVIO India is further strengthening its capabilities in advanced safety technologies. These additions are a result of the company’s continued focus on modernising its production processes and expanding its product portfolio, aligned with its vision to develop the Bengaluru facility into a key hub for next-generation automotive safety systems.
