CHARGE ZONE Reaches 13,500 Stations, Becomes India’s Largest EV Charging Network

CHARGE ZONE has officially become the largest electric vehicle charging platform in India, having crossed the milestone of 13,500 operational charging stations across the country. The company’s expansion has been powered by a series of strategic roaming agreements based on the Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol. These agreements have brought together multiple service providers — including Statiq, Bolt, Kazam, Pulse Energy, Chargemod, ElectreeFi, and Evnnovator — into one unified network. Through this interoperability framework, EV users can now access thousands of chargers using a single mobile application, reducing fragmentation in the user experience and enhancing reliability.

CHARGE ZONE’s growing infrastructure now serves over 8,000 EV users daily. With 2.5 lakh downloads of its app and nearly 70 percent of India’s electric car users having engaged with the platform at some stage, the company has achieved a scale that few in the sector have managed. Its charging network includes a mix of AC and DC chargers, with capacities starting from 3.3kW for home-level needs to 360kW ultra-fast chargers for highway and commercial fleet requirements. The company claims that certain vehicles can achieve 80% charge in just 30 minutes using its DC fast-charging units.

Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO, noted that the achievement goes beyond quantity. The focus, he said, is on creating a “digital backbone” for India’s EV ecosystem. The aim is to ensure accessibility and ease-of-use for all types of users, from daily commuters to logistics operators. According to him, the platform is not just a charging utility but a tech-driven service integrating various aspects of the EV ownership experience.

This growth is not limited to metropolitan regions. The company has actively expanded its footprint into tier-2 cities and highway corridors, recognizing the need for accessible charging infrastructure beyond urban centres.
