Terra Charge Opens EV Charging Hub in India

Ghaziabad is part of the National Capital Region (NCR), which consists of Delhi and several districts of surrounding states. Terra Charge has strategically set up the new EV charging station on the Delhi-Meerut Highway.

The new EV charging hub allows 72 EVs to charge simultaneously. However, it seems Terra Charge planned it primarily to serve electric two-and three-wheelers. 70 chargers supply alternating current at a low output of 3.3 kW. The remaining unit is a 60 kW DC charger for electric cars with a CCS2 charging port.

Terra Charge invested 50,000,000 rupees (roughly 545,000 euros) in its new EV charging hub in Ghaziabad. “Our new hub in Ghaziabad is one of the largest public EV charging stations in India,” Terra Charge India CEO Akihito Ueda commented on its inauguration. “We chose to keep our charging hub open to public and commercial fleets to meet the region’s charging requirements and support large-scale adoption.”

Including the new Ghaziabad facility, Terra Charge operates 50 EV charging stations with more than 400 charging points in India. The company is exploring partnerships to expand its business in India.

In September, Terra Charge partnered with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to build EV charging stations at major airports across the country. The company established the first outlet at the Raja Bhoj International Airport (BHO) in Bhopal, a city in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh as part of this deal. In addition to India, Terra Charge operates in its home market Japan, as well as ASEAN nations Thailand and Indonesia.
