High-performance electric superbike manufacturer has unveiled two limited-edition motorcycles, the Hypersport Arctic Sun and Midnight Sun. The two limited-edition motorcycles pack identical styling, although they are distinguished by their respective paint themes. The Arctic Sun version features a white base paint while the Midnight Sun gets a black finish. Both paint schemes are complemented by gold-coloured highlights.
Engine specifications include a PMAC liquid-cooled electric motor that generates 160kW (214.5bhp) of peak power. The 0-60mph (0-96kmph) acceleration takes under three seconds while the top speed is rated at 200mph (322kmph). The engine is fuelled by a 21.5kWh battery pack that promises a range of over 200mph (322km) on a single charge. The battery can be fully charged in less than three hours using a Level 2 charger.
The premium hardware on both motorcycles includes Ohlins-sourced telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock to perform the shock absorption tasks. Braking duties are performed by dual discs on the front wheel and a single rotor at the back – both grabbed by Brembo-sourced callipers. The motorcycle also features two onboard HD (1080p) cameras that work with the safety features.
The company’s CoPilot technology, for example, is a 360-degree Advanced Warning System that constantly analyses the surroundings of the motorcycle and warns the rider about a potential danger. The “Shift” function brings the convenience of electronically altering the riding position between Sport Mode and Commuter Mode with a push of a button. Damon Motorcycles also offers 4G connectivity with the motorcycles.
The Damon Hyper
sport Arctic Sun and Midnight Sun are priced at USD 39,995. The reservations are open for USD 1,000.
