Tata Nexon Ev Facelift Bookings Open In India Ahead Of September 14 Launch

The Tata Nexon EV facelift, which comes with significant upgrades to both its design and cabin in its new avatar, was recently unveiled by Tata Motors. This updated electric vehicle has a greater driving range, making it an ideal option for environment-conscious Indian buyers. On September 14, 2023, in conjunction with the rollout of the all-new Nexon (ICE version) in the Indian market, the pricing details for the 2023 Nexon EV will be officially revealed. However, the bookings for the new electrified Nexon are now underway in the country for a token amount of Rs 21,000. Prospective customers can reserve the same either online on the company’s official website or at their nearest authorised dealership.

Tata Nexon EV Facelift: Variants and Design

Three trim levels—Creative, Fearless, and Empowered—will be offered for the 2023 iteration of the EV. In addition to this, Long Range and Medium Range will be its other variants. The Curvv concept served as the primary design inspiration for the all-new Nexon EV’s exterior styling. Compared to its internal combustion engine sibling, it gives off a more contemporary and sophisticated vibe. The new alloy wheels, unique shut-off front grille, wide LED Daytime Running Lights, completely new front and rear bumpers, split cluster design, and connected LED tail lamps are just a few of the outward features that stand out.

Tata Nexon EV Facelift: Interior Features

The dashboard and centre console of the Nexon EV facelift have undergone improvements. In contrast to the 10.23-inch screen in the ICE Nexon, it has a larger 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and a new theme for the cabin. This unit has touch controls for climate operations, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster gives the driver essential data. Further updated are the steering wheel’s two-spoke form and illuminated logo.

Apart from this, the model is equipped with a host of other equipment such as an electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, electronic stability control (ESC), blind spot monitor, adjustable headrests, an Electronic Parking Brake with auto hold function, ventilated front seats, cruise control, an air purifier, connected car technology, and updated air conditioning vents, among others.

Tata Nexon EV Facelift: Powertrain and Range

In terms of mechanical specifications, the facelifted model will still be available with two battery capacities: a 30.2kWh battery for the Nexon.ev MR (Medium Range) and a 40.5kWh battery for the Nexon.ev LR (Long Range). While the latter produces 141bhp of power and 215Nm of peak torque, the former generates 127bhp and the same amount of torque. According to the firm, the car is outfitted with a new Gen2 permanent magnet synchronous motor that is lighter, cleaner, and more efficient.

On a single charge, the MR and the LR will have a driving range of 325km (MIDC) and 465km (MIDC), respectively. Both versions of the new Nexon.ev will include 7.2kWh fast charging and, for the first time, provide vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-vehicle charging capabilities. This indicates that the vehicle’s onboard electric battery may power other appliances as well as another EV. Due to improved aerodynamics, the manufacturer claims that the electric derivative can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 8.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 150km/h.

Tata Nexon EV Facelift: Market Rivals

Owing to a number of enhancements, the new Nexon.ev facelift is anticipated to cost more than the previous model. The Mahindra XUV400, the MG ZS EV, and other comparable cars will continue to rival the Nexon EV facelift in the market.
