Uno Minda Ltd, a leading global Tier-1 supplier of automotive systems, has teamed up with StarCharge Energy Pte. Ltd to produce and sell Electric Vehicle Supply Equipments (EVSE) in India. This Technical Licence Agreement (TLA) will focus on manufacturing wall-mounted AC chargers for convenient home charging. OEMs typically offer these chargers alongside electric vehicles to facilitate home-based charging. StarCharge, renowned for its EV charging infrastructure and microgrid solutions, operates in 67 countries, with manufacturing bases in the USA, Vietnam, and China. With this collaboration, Uno Minda aims to enhance its EV-specific product range for passenger cars.

As the International Energy Agency notes limited public charging infrastructure as a challenge for EV adoption due to cost, speed, and waiting times, this partnership aspires to transform home charging solutions, promoting faster and cleaner mobility in India. Uno Minda’s CMD, Nirmal K Minda, expressed pride in this alliance, emphasising the company’s commitment to ‘Make in India’ and a sustainable electric future.

Meanwhile, StarCharge’s Chairlady, Shao Danwei, highlighted the promising opportunities for home charging solutions in India and the combined potential of both companies to deliver competitive and user-centric EV solutions.
