Auto components manufacturer Uno Minda has announced the acquisition of the remaining 49.9% stake in its joint venture, Uno Minda EV Systems (UMEV), from German partner FRIWO Gerätebau GmbH for ₹195 crore. With this transaction, Uno Minda’s ownership in UMEV will increase from 50.1% to 100%, the company said in a statement on Friday. As part of the deal, Uno Minda’s subsidiaries will also acquire intellectual property rights and R&D assets related to e-drive business technologies from FRIWO’s facilities in Germany and Vietnam. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of Q1 FY26.

“With full ownership and the integration of e-drive technologies, UMEV is poised to strengthen its leadership in India’s EV systems market,” said Nirmal K. Minda, Chairman and Managing Director of Uno Minda Group.

Highlighting the growth potential of the Indian electric vehicle sector, particularly in the two-wheeler segment, Minda stated that this acquisition would enable the company to capitalize on emerging opportunities and drive further expansion. Uno Minda and FRIWO originally established UMEV as a joint venture in December 2021
