Tata Power Expands EV Charging Infrastructure in Eastern Uttar Pradesh

Tata Power, a leading integrated power company in India that specializes in electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has launched a new EV charging station in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. This initiative is designed to improve connectivity in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, linking cities such as Sultanpur, Ballia, and Gorakhpur. The project creates a vital corridor from Ballia to Lucknow, enhancing accessibility for EV users in the region.

The newly established infrastructure includes a 30kW charger located at Puneet Auto Sales in Ballia, serving as the network’s starting point. Another 30kW charger is installed at the Sarvodya Digital Library in Azamgarh, allowing for travel over a distance of 130 kilometers. In Sultanpur, a 30kW charger can be found at Motel Nh56, followed by a 60kW fast charger at Shalimar Corporate Park in Lucknow.

This effort aims to strengthen connectivity between Eastern and Western Uttar Pradesh and aligns with Tata Power’s commitment to facilitating India’s shift to electric mobility through the establishment of a comprehensive EV charging network. The company plans to address infrastructure challenges and meet the rising demand for electric vehicles by placing charging stations in key locations such as hotels, highways, malls, car dealerships, and office complexes.

Tata Power has built an extensive EZ Charge network that features over 100,000 home charger installations and more than 5,500 charging points spread across various segments in over 550 cities and towns. The network also includes upwards of 1,100 bus charging stations, with operations in major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Jammu.
