Statiq, India’s leading electric vehicle (EV) charging network, has partnered with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in India. This strategic collaboration includes the development of a bespoke app for BPCL and the integration of BPCL’s existing chargers, which boast approximately 2800 chargers, including 2,000 AC and 800 DC chargers, into Statiq’s network.
Akshit Bansal, Founder & CEO of Statiq, highlighted the partnership’s alignment with the company’s mission. “This collaboration allows us to leverage BPCL’s vast network, providing seamless and convenient charging solutions to a larger number of EV users. Our goal is to create a robust EV infrastructure that supports the growing demand and drives the transition to sustainable mobility in India,” said Bansal.
The partnership also includes the development of a bespoke app for BPCL, enhancing the accessibility and user-friendliness of the charging stations. Statiq’s network currently spans over 7,000 chargers across 65 cities, with ambitious plans to expand to 20,000 chargers by 2025. This expansion is designed to accommodate a wide range of electric vehicles, including popular models, ensuring comprehensive support for India’s growing number of EV owners.
The initiative is seen as a critical move in fostering sustainable transportation solutions, crucial for reducing pollution and combating climate change. With increasing awareness and popularity of electric vehicles, the development of an extensive and efficient charging infrastructure is deemed essential for promoting wider adoption of eco-friendly vehicles.
