Odysse Electric Vehicles has received a much-needed short in the arm at the right time. The Mumbai-based EV startup has announced that the upcoming Vader has received certification from International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) passing all tests including AIS-156 battery testing.
The brand’s flagship motorcycle is slated to hit the Indian market in December this year. Keeping in mind the revised FAME II norms, Odysse will announce updated prices for Vader at the time of its launch.

Powering Odysse Vader is a hub-mounted electric motor with 3kW nominal and 4.5kW peak output that draws energy from a 3.7kWh lithium-battery pack. There are three ride modes on offer— Eco, Drive, and Sport, besides the Reverse mode. The company claims a maximum range of 125 km on a single charge in Eco mode. Vader can clock a top speed of 85 kmph. The AIS-156 approved battery pack can be charged within 4 hours.
In terms of equipment, Vader offers a 7-inch Android display providing IoT connectivity and Google map navigation updates. In addition, braking hardware consists of 240mm front and 220mm rear disc brakes aided by combi braking system (CBS). Vader is available in five colour options namely fiery red, venom green, misty grey, midnight blue, and glossy black.
