The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) and Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging Private Limited have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to push the innovation and establishment of advanced AC and DC fast EV chargers.

Zynetic, a company involved in the operation, development, and management of EV charging stations is reported to have a strong foothold in designing high-performance and sustainable charging solutions, Autocar reported.

Both entities plan to explore their partnership in EV charging technology consultancy, research, and academic exchange. The MoU includes areas of cooperation like embedded systems, power electronics, and integrating machine learning and artificial intelligence for predictive maintenance, the report added.

The partnership aims to create reliable and effective next-generation EV chargers to satisfy the demands of India’s expanding EV market by fusing Zynetic’s industrial experience with IIT Kanpur’s research capabilities.

Citing Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, Autocar reported, “Our partnership with Zynetic exemplifies how academia and industry can work together to enhance EV infrastructure and support India’s environmental goals. Meeting the government’s goal of 30% EV adoption for new private vehicle registrations by 2030 will require a broad charging network. This collaboration allows IIT Kanpur to contribute to India’s energy objectives and promote sustainable practices.”

Meanwhile, Harshvardhan Tiwari, CEO and founder of Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging, stated, “Partnering with IIT Kanpur aligns with our goal of promoting sustainable transportation in India. This collaboration supports our efforts to develop innovative EV charging solutions,” the report further stated.
