Hero Surge S32 – An Electric 3-Wheeler That Can Transform Into An Electric Scooter

Hero MotoCorp’s Surge startup has taken a bold step forward with their groundbreaking vehicle, the Hero Surge S32. This innovative modular vehicle breaks new ground as the first ‘class-shifting’ vehicle on the Indian market.

The Surge S32 is designed to cater to the dynamic needs of self-employed individuals by combining the convenience of an electric scooter with the utility of a three-wheel electric rickshaw.

It’s not just a vehicle; it’s a transformational tool that enables the owner to switch between a cargo-carrying three-wheeler and a personal electric scooter. Surge’s ‘class-shifting’ design enables owners to maximize their earning potential while also using a more presentable mode of transportation for personal use.

The Surge S32 offers the robustness of a 3W electric vehicle for carrying goods or ferrying passengers. When the workday ends, the same vehicle can morph into a sleek electric scooter, perfect for an evening ride or running personal errands.

The transformation can occur in as little as three minutes, the S32 stands out as both a reliable workhorse and a stylish personal vehicle. The transition between the two forms is designed to be seamless, with adaptive controls and safety features to ensure a smooth changeover, regardless of the terrain. The front passenger cabin, complete with a windscreen, lighting, and potential weather-protective soft doors, cleverly conceals a detachable electric scooter. This scooter, equipped with LED headlights, indicators, and its own instrumentation and switchgear, connects to the 3W’s powertrain and battery via a manual electric interface. When it comes to power and performance, the Surge S32 doesn’t skimp. The three-wheeler boasts a robust 13.4bhp and can carry a substantial load of 500 kg, while the two-wheeler variant puts out 4bhp and a quicker top speed.
