BMW has announced the launch of its iX1 electric SUV in India on September 28, 2023. This all-electric version of the third-generation X1 is the fourth electric model in BMW’s India lineup.
Design and Performance
The iX1, similar to its ICE counterpart, features a blanked-off front fascia in BMW’s typical twin-kidney design, redesigned LED headlamps, new alloy wheels, and a reworked rear end. It’s powered by a dual-motor setup with a combined output of 313 BHP and 494 Nm.
Battery and Charging
The SUV is equipped with a 64.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that offers a range of 438 km on a single charge. It comes with an 11 kW charger and is capable of fast charging up to 130 kW.
Interior and Features
Inside, the iX1 boasts a 10.7-inch touchscreen and BMW’s curved digital information display system. Optional features include a panoramic sunroof and front massage seats.
Pricing and Competition
The iX1 is expected to be priced around Rs 60-65 lakh (ex-showroom, India), making it potentially the most affordable electric BMW in India. German automaker’s this EV will go up against the likes of Volvo XC40 Recharge, which costs around Rs 57 lakh.
