The Andhra Pradesh government has launched its Sustainable Electric Mobility Policy 4.0 (2024-2029) to promote electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing and sustainable transport, aiming for carbon neutrality (scope 1 emissions) by 2047.
The policy targets the registration of 200,000 electric two-wheelers, 10,000 electric three-wheelers, and 20,000 electric four-wheelers. Charging stations will be set up every 30 km along green corridors and at 3×3 km grids in e-mobility cities. A Rs 5 billion fund will support e-mobility cities and startup incubation centers. The micro, small and medium enterprises manufacturers will receive a 35-45 per cent investment subsidy or turnover support for three years, with additional benefits for enterprises led by marginalised groups. Large manufacturers can avail turnover-linked incentives, capped at 25 percent of fixed capital investment. Charging station operators will get 25 percent capital subsidies (up to Rs 300,000 per station). EV buyers will benefit from purchase incentives of 5-10 percent of the ex-showroom price and road tax exemptions for five years. The policy also incentivizes private industrial parks, recyclers, and scrapping facilities with subsidies up to 45 pe rcent of investment, along with fee waivers and reimbursements.
