Amazon India has partnered with Gentari Green Mobility India (Gentari) to accelerate the deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) in its delivery network, furthering its commitment to decarbonizing its transport operations. This collaboration aims to support Amazon’s last-mile delivery service partners (DSPs) by providing increased access to three-wheeler EVs, enhancing the company’s zero-tailpipe emission deliveries across the country.
Over the last decade, Amazon has been actively working with various stakeholders, including manufacturers, delivery service providers, charging infrastructure operators, and financing companies, to promote the adoption of EVs in its operations. These efforts have extended across more than 400 cities in India, with the company deploying over 7,200 EVs in 2023 alone. Amazon is on track to meet its goal of integrating 10,000 EVs into its India delivery fleet by 2025. Through this partnership, Gentari will procure and deploy EVs in key Indian cities over the next three years. Alongside vehicle deployment, Gentari will offer comprehensive fleet management services to ensure smooth operations and maintenance of the EVs. This initiative is expected to improve the reliability of Amazon’s delivery services, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable practices.
Additionally, Gentari recently launched Gentari Go in India, an integrated platform designed to provide businesses and consumers with access to clean energy solutions. This platform will benefit Amazon’s fleet operators by offering a range of services, including access to a vast network of public charging stations, business credits, and optimized fleet management through telematics support.
