Altigreen, a pioneering manufacturer of electric vehicles for the last-mile sector, has partnered with Bolt.Earth, a leading provider of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, to co-deploy 100 3.3 kW charging points for electric 3-wheelers in a month, and over 5000 charging points during the next 3 years, the company said.
India has witnessed a recent rise in demand for electric 3-wheelers in the last-mile delivery segment, especially in the L5N (goods) category, where electric 3-wheelers now command 21% penetration till date. Both Bolt.Earth and Altigreen recognize, however, that the country’s current charging infrastructure is too limited to fully support this electrification trend. In the absence of readily accessible charging points, range anxiety is deterring many fossil-fuel 3-wheeler users from transitioning to electric vehicles. As a result, through timely deployment of charging solutions, this partnership will prove instrumental in removing the major obstacles to electric 3-wheeler adoption, the company said in a media release.
