Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers are incorporating AI technology from the Hangzhou-based start-up DeepSeek as competition in the sector intensifies.

In the past two weeks, over a dozen automakers, including market leader BYD and Stellantis-backed Leapmotor, have announced plans to integrate DeepSeek AI features into their vehicles.

Automakers are using AI technology to enhance safety through advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

They aim to improve in-car infotainment and generally elevate the driving experience.
